Updated: Jan 24, 2021

What if tea wasn't PG? What if your pretty pitcher of sweet tea was not appropriate for your kids? Well....we have taken some of our delicious teas and created ADULT ONLY beverages with them. Yes you read this right, these recipes have alcohol. We know you will want to make these drinks for friends, the next time a party is allowed (thanks covid). Sweet tea Prosecco Cocktails For One Cocktail:

  • 1 Tbs loose black tea - I like Earl Grey

  • 3 oz Water just under boiling

  • 2-3 tsp Honey or simple syrup - adjust to taste

  • 1 oz Vodka or Gin

  • 1/2 oz Grand Marnier

  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice

  • Prosecco for topping - not a super dry one

  • Lemon slice for garnish

For Five Cocktails:

  • 5 Tbs loose tea leaves - I like Earl Grey

  • 2 C Water just under boiling

  • 4 Tbs Honey or simple syrup - adjust to taste

  • 2/3 C Vodka or Gin

  • 1/4 Grand Marnier

  • 1/4 C (70) Lemon Juice

  • Prosecco for topping - not a super dry one.

  • Lemon slice for garnish

Directions In a lidded Mason jar or for the larger quantity recipe use a pitcher, add the tea bag or tea leaves and pour the water over the tea. Stir in the honey or simple syrup. Steep for 10 minutes, then remove the tea bag (or strain the tea) and store it in the refrigerator to cool for at least 30 minutes. The tea can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.

  • To the jar, pour in the vodka or gin, Grand Mariner, and lemon juice. Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours until ready to share.

  • To serve, pack a low ball or Mason jar with ice. Pour the tea mixture over the ice, garnish with a lemon slice then top with Prosecco. Stir and enjoy!
